About Jordie Payne

I’m Jordie Payne, a Los Angeles art director, graphic designer and illustrator. Through Crescent Tide Studio, I create visual identities, packaging, posters, merchandise and campaigns for music, culture and independent brands.

My process is hands-on by design. I begin with research, sketching, photography, collage, found material and custom lettering before moving into a digital system. The result is work that feels considered and usable without sanding away the evidence that a person made it.

I’m especially drawn to projects with a story already inside them: a record that needs a visual world, an archival catalog ready to meet a new audience, a small brand with strong values, or an artist looking for merchandise that feels connected to the work rather than added afterward.

Alongside the studio, I publish Vibe Waves, a journal about art, music, Los Angeles, process, memory and the things we keep returning to.
